New Year’s Eve 台北跨年與九份之旅

Hello, everyone! This past weekend was New Year’s Eve. My American friend came to visit me, and we decided to get a hotel in Taipei to see the fireworks at Taipei 101. Before the fireworks, there were a few bands that were playing music. I liked the band called “Amazing Show.” They are a very popular Taiwanese rock band. After the bands, the fireworks started. They were amazing! There were so many different colors in the sky. You can ask me to see the pictures and videos I took.

The day after the fireworks, my friend and I went to Jiufen to check out the old street and the delicious tea. Teacher Yang said the best way to go there is by train and taxi. When we got there, we roamed around, ate a few things, and drank some delicious tea at a popular tea house. The tea was so good, we stayed there for almost 3 hours! 

At the end of our trip, we explored the National Taiwan University campus and the night market close by. The campus is beautiful, and the night market has great food. To end the night, we had some tangyuan to warm us up from the cold night. It was a great way to end our trip.

台北跨年與九份之旅

大家好！上週末正好是跨年夜。我的美國朋友來台灣找我，所以我們決定在台北訂一間飯店，準備好好欣賞台北 101 的煙火秀。

在煙火開始之前，現場有幾支樂團正在表演。我特別喜歡一個叫作**「美秀集團 (Amazing Show)」**的樂團，他們是台灣非常受歡迎的搖滾樂團。表演結束後，煙火秀正式登場，真的太壯觀了！天空中佈滿了五彩繽紛的色彩。如果你們想看我拍的照片或影片，歡迎隨時跟我說喔！

看過煙火的隔天，我和朋友前往九份，打算去逛逛老街並品嚐好茶。楊老師建議我們，去九份最好的交通方式是先搭火車再轉計程車。抵達之後，我們在那裡四處漫步、吃了不少小吃，還在一間很有名的茶館喝了些好茶。那裡的茶實在太迷人了，我們竟然在茶館待了快三個小時！

旅程的最後，我們去參觀了台灣大學（台大）的校園，並逛了附近的夜市。台大的校園非常漂亮，而夜市裡的小吃也讓人讚不絕口。為了替這趟旅程劃下完美的句點，我們吃了一碗熱騰騰的湯圓，在寒冷的深夜裡暖暖身子。這真的是一次非常棒的旅行經驗。

A Trip to Shetou Sock and Guava Festival日月潭之旅

Hello, everyone! Today, I want to tell you about my time at the Shetou Sock and Guava Festival. Last Sunday, I went to the Sock and Guava Festival with my Mandarin teacher. She always gives me suggestions of things to see in Taiwan. We arrived in the morning, so I was hungry to eat some breakfast. I had 大腸包小腸， or little sausage wrapped in a big sausage. After we ate, we did some shopping. I look at all the different gloves, hats, jackets, and, of course, socks. The socks were so soft and comfortable, and they were all different colors. I ended up buying 8 pairs of socks. I bought two types- one type for exercise, and one type for work. The exercise socks are short, and the work socks are long. 

After we did some shopping, we watched a lot of performances. There was a saxophone performance, and a few dance performances. It was very interesting! While we watched the performances, we drank sugar cane juice. It was very sweet and refreshing. We stayed about an hour and a half. After we returned back to her house, I rode my scooter back home and took a rest. It was a very fun day!

社頭襪子與芭樂節之旅

大家好！今天我要跟大家分享我在社頭襪子與芭樂節的經驗。上個星期天，我和我的中文老師一起去了襪子與芭樂節。她常常會給我一些在台灣值得一看的建議。

我們早上就到了，所以我很餓，想吃點早餐。我吃了大腸包小腸，也就是用大香腸包著小香腸。吃完之後，我們去逛街購物。我看了各式各樣的手套、帽子、外套，當然還有襪子。那些襪子又柔軟又舒服，而且顏色都不一樣。最後我買了 8 雙襪子。我買了兩種款式：一種是運動用的，一種是上班用的。運動襪是短襪，上班用的襪子是長襪。

逛完街之後，我們看了很多表演。有薩克斯風表演，還有幾個舞蹈表演，非常有趣！一邊看表演的時候，我們一邊喝甘蔗汁，又甜又清涼。我們大約待了一個半小時。回到她家之後，我騎著我的機車回家休息。那真是非常開心的一天！

Week 4- A Trip to Sun Moon Lake 日月潭之旅

      Hello, everyone! I hope everyone did well on their exam. Today, I want to tell you about my trip to Sun Moon Lake. I went to Sun Moon Lake last week. Sun Moon Lake is in Nantou County, which is right next to Changhua County.  The drive there is just as beautiful, because you are driving through the mountains. As you drive through the mountains, it gets a bit colder, so be sure to bring a jacket or two!

On my way there, I stopped at Shuili in Nantou County. The view there was great! I ate some dried fruit while sitting near a bridge and enjoyed the scenery of the mountains.. A long time ago, Shuili used to be very famous for its logging business. Shuili is near Checheng, which is also a very important place in Taiwanese history. Checheng used to be a very important train station and transportation hub. Today, it is a popular tourist spot for people to experience and learn about Taiwan’s history. 

I did not do much at Sun Moon Lake. I visited two very old temples, sat by the lake, and walked around the bike trail. I was very happy to have a relaxing trip!

大家好！希望大家考試都考得不錯。今天，我想跟你們分享我去日月潭的旅行。

我上週去了日月潭。日月潭位於南投縣，就在彰化縣的旁邊。前往那裡的路也非常漂亮，因為開車會經過山區。當你越開越高時，天氣會變得有點冷，所以記得要帶一兩件外套！

在前往日月潭的路上，我在南投縣的水里停留了一下。那裡的景色非常棒！我坐在橋邊吃著果乾，欣賞山景。很久以前，水里因為伐木業而非常有名。水里靠近車埕，而車埕在台灣歷史上也是一個很重要的地方。車埕以前是一個非常重要的火車站和交通樞紐。如今，它是個熱門的觀光景點，人們可以在那裡體驗並了解台灣的歷史。

在日月潭，我沒有做太多事情。我參觀了兩座非常古老的廟宇，坐在湖邊休息，還在自行車道附近散步。我對這趟放鬆的旅行感到非常滿意！

Week 3- A Trip to Penghu 澎湖之旅

      Hello, everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the cool weather. This weather reminds me of home. Every October in the United States, my family and friends enjoy the cooler weather by doing fun things like corn mazes, pumpkin picking, and haunted houses. While I am enjoying the weather, I think it is very windy here! When I ride the scooter, I need to wear a jacket. Sometimes the wind almost blows my helmet off! 

This weekend, I will go to the Penghu islands. I will run a half marathon, which is a really long race. To get there, I have to take the train down to Kaohsiung, and then the ferry to Penghu. I might not run well because I hurt my knee last week, but I hope it feels better in time for the race! Nevertheless, I am excited to ride on the ferry, spend time with my friends, and explore the scenery of Penghu. Penghu is home to the oldest Mazu temple in Taiwan and the Penghu National Park- I really want to see that if I have time.

大家好！希望你們都在享受這個涼爽的天氣。這種天氣讓我想起我的家鄉。每年十月，在美國我的家人和朋友都會利用變涼的天氣去做一些有趣的活動，例如玉米迷宮、採南瓜、或去鬼屋。雖然我很喜歡現在的天氣，但我覺得這裡真的很風大！我騎機車時一定要穿外套，有時候風大到我的安全帽都快被吹掉了！

這週末我要去澎湖。我會跑一場半程馬拉松，那是一個非常長的比賽。要去那裡，我需要先搭火車到高雄，再坐船到澎湖。上週我的膝蓋受傷了，所以可能跑得沒有很好，但我希望在比賽前會好一點！不管怎樣，我還是很期待坐船、和朋友一起玩，以及探索澎湖的風景。澎湖有台灣最古老的媽祖廟，也有澎湖南方四島國家公園——如果時間允許，我真的很想去看看。

Week 2-Ryan的週末 

      Hello, everyone! Welcome to my podcast. Today, I want to tell you about my weekend. This weekend, I went to the Nantou Global Tea Expo. An expo is like a festival where many different tea experts can share their tea. I live in Yuanlin, so I had to ride my scooter up into the mountains to get to Nantou. The scenery was beautiful, and at the top of the mountains, I was able to see a great view of Yuanlin. At the Nantou Global Tea Expo, I tried many different teas, but my favorite was a white tea from Japan. It was a little sweet, and tasted very delicious. After my friends and I drank some tea, we ate lunch. We had corn dogs, dumplings, and some starfruit juice. By 5:00pm, it was time to go see the fireworks for Double Ten Day. I rode my scooter into the mountains to get the best view. The fireworks were beautiful! We saw so many colors and shapes. When the fireworks were over, we rode my scooter back to Yuanlin, which is where we live. It was difficult to leave the area because there were so many people. I had to drive really slow, and it took forever to get home. When we finally got home, we decided to stop by FamilyMart for a snack. Luckily, there is a FamilyMart very close to my apartment. Overall, it was such a great day.

大家好！歡迎收聽我的 podcast。今天，我想跟大家分享我的週末。這個週末，我去了南投國際茶業博覽會。
“Expo（博覽會）”就像是一個節慶活動，許多不同的茶專家會來分享他們的茶。

我住在員林，所以我要騎機車上山才能到南投。沿途的風景非常美麗，在山頂時，我可以看到整個員林的美景。在南投茶博會上，我試喝了很多不同的茶，但我最喜歡的是一款來自日本的白茶。它有一點甜味，喝起來非常好喝。我和朋友們喝完茶後，就去吃午餐。我們吃了玉米狗、餃子，還喝了楊桃汁。

到了下午五點，我們去看雙十節的煙火。我騎著機車上山，想找到最棒的觀賞位置。煙火真的很漂亮！我們看到好多顏色和形狀。煙火結束後，我們騎機車回員林。因為人太多了，要離開那裡真的很困難。我只能開得很慢，回家的路上花了好久。

最後，回到家附近時，我們決定去全家便利商店買點心。幸運的是，我的公寓附近就有一家全家。整體來說，那真是美好的一天。

Week 1-認識外籍英文老師 Ryan 

      Hi! My name is Ryan and I teach English at Sijhou Junior High School. I am from the United States, and live in a place called Maryland. Like Taiwan, Maryland is close to the water and is famous for its seafood. My family and I often eat shrimp and crabs.

      This is my first time in Taiwan, and I’m very excited to be here. I’m most excited to learn about the music, food, and history of Taiwan. On the weekends, I like to go to museums. Recently, I went to the Natural History Museum in Taichung to learn about the history of Taiwan’s landscape and people. It was a lot of fun! My roommates and I took the train to Taichung and stayed the entire day. It was a lot of walking, which made us hungry. We ate delicious food before taking a bus back to the train station.

I’m excited to tell you more about my adventures in Taiwan. I hope to see a lot of Taiwan, from the beautiful mountains to the busy cities!

大家好！我的名字是 Ryan，我在 溪州國中 教英文。我來自美國，住在一個叫做 馬里蘭州 (Maryland) 的地方。跟臺灣一樣，馬里蘭州靠近水邊，並以海鮮聞名。我的家人和我經常吃 蝦子和螃蟹。這是我第一次來到臺灣，我對此感到非常興奮。我最期待能了解臺灣的 音樂、美食和歷史。週末的時候，我喜歡去逛博物館。最近，我去了臺中的 自然科學博物館，了解臺灣的地理景觀和人文歷史。那裡非常有趣！我和我的室友們搭火車去臺中，待了一整天。走了很多路，讓我們肚子很餓。我們在搭公車回火車站之前，飽餐了一頓美食。
